What to Expect During Your Appointment at My Studio ?

Getting pierced is an intimate, sometimes daunting act, especially if it's your first time or if you've had bad experiences elsewhere. Sometimes you can feel a little intimidated in tattoo/piercing studios, and that's what I myself felt in several studios when I started getting pierced around the age of 15. That's why, when I opened my studio, I wanted to offer my clients a personalized experience in a professional, calm, and safe environment. I also wanted everyone to feel comfortable talking freely, asking questions, without feeling judged. Below, I explain how a piercing appointment works in my shop. 1- Welcome: You arrive in a space designed to make you feel comfortable, heard, and well-informed. Upon your arrival, I take the time to discuss your project with you: the area you wish to pierce, your style, your lifestyle (work, sports, sleep, etc.), and any history of previous piercings or reactions. I help you determine what is anatomically feasible and choose a suitable and safe initial piercing piece from a selection of high-end jewelry. Nothing is imposed; everything is done through dialogue. You can ask any questions you like: I explain each step transparently.

While I prepare the piercing room and sterilize the necessary equipment, you'll have time to complete your client file on your phone using the QR code displayed in the studio. I use the Skintrace app to create a complete file for each client, including information relevant to the piercing and health data necessary for the procedure and healing process. This file will include the jewelry you've chosen, as well as all the details of the products I'll be using, including batch numbers and expiration dates, and proof of equipment sterilization (control strip).

2- In the piercing room:

Once in the piercing room, I'll mark the spot with a marker to determine the best placement for your jewelry. Then, I'll proceed with skin preparation, an essential step for a safe piercing!

Everything is now ready for the actual piercing. The technique is precise and always performed with sterile, single-use equipment (gloves, needle, gauze, jewelry, etc.).

Finally, I clean the pierced area with a sterile gauze pad and saline solution, and then dry it. This post-piercing cleaning step is especially important to remove any traces of povidone-iodine from your skin, as my piercing technique causes little to no bleeding.

I never use a piercing gun, as this type of tool is unsuitable, traumatic to the tissues, and not sterile (feel free to read the article on this topic here).

3- Comprehensive Aftercare Support

Once the piercing is done, I'll clearly explain the aftercare instructions, what to avoid, and how to monitor your piercing's progress. You'll receive written instructions so you don't forget anything. We'll also schedule a follow-up appointment 3 to 6 weeks after your piercing.

Once you leave the studio, you're not alone! I'm available after your appointment if you have any questions or need any further support.

4- Check-up :

During the check-up (approximately 15 minutes), I will take the time to check the healing progress and answer all your questions. I will also insert a shorter bar, as the inflammatory phase will have passed, and it will be time to use a shorter bar to prevent snagging or your piercing from shifting from its original alignment.

It is important not to skip this step, as it will allow your piercing to continue healing properly and prevent future problems (the article on healing issues can be found here).

Depending on the type of piercing and the progress of the healing, we may schedule a second follow-up visit. If everything is perfect, then I won't schedule one, but please know that I will always be available afterward, and that's precisely what I ask: that you contact me if you have any questions, problems, or if the healing process is regressing. This will allow me to help you and resolve the issue. My goal is for your piercing to complete its healing process without any problems.

A few things to know:

• You can be accompanied by one person, but they will have to wait in the waiting room and will not be allowed in the piercing room.

  
  

• If you are a minor, you must be accompanied by one of your parents or your legal guardian. This person will need to sign the parental authorization forms on-site.

  
  

• Animals and food are not allowed in the studio for hygiene reasons. I do not use jewelry that is not purchased from the studio, so you cannot bring any jewelry from home to have it done.

  
  

• Once inside the studio, please do not handle, touch, or remove your piercing jewelry to avoid spreading bacteria throughout the studio. If any jewelry needs to be removed, I will do so in the piercing room while wearing gloves.

  
  

• It is not possible to try on or touch jewelry in the display case, for hygiene reasons, but I can, with gloves and tweezers, show you the placement in front of the area to be pierced.
